Physics is Hot in Zygon
Since publishing the symposium on “Quantum Reality and the Consciousness of the Universe” in September these articles have quickly become some of Zygon's most widely read pieces. In this symposium physical chemist Lothar Schäfer presents his case for transcendence being rooted in fundamental reality. Philosopher of science Ervin Laszlo and two physicists, Carl Helrich and Stanley Klein have responded and critiqued these ideas. The seven articles in this symposium cover nearly 100 pages on this timely topic and are among our 20 most read articles in the past three years as well as among the 20 most cited articles Zygon has published in the past year.
In our forthcoming March issue Carl Helrich and philosopher-theologian Timothy Sansbury will present their own views on this issue. In the interim, Zygon will keep physics in the limelight with the symposium on “Einstein, God, and Time” in our soon-to-be-released December issue. Historian of science John Hedley Brooke, theologian Antje Jackelén, and physicist-theologian John Polkinghorne have each revised and expanded their 2005 Oxford lectures for wider publication here.
